The Split

By day, you're a competent employee who performs his/her job well with accuracy and pleasing results.  You've taken care of your fair share of tasks; you complement your department/team well.  Your supervisor and the upper level managers continue to look good.  Then you leave the building where you're 'officially employed' and allow the split to take place.  You're in your car making phone calls, you're telling your closest associates how your day went and you're enthusiastically describing what crazy/funny thing happened 'at work' today.  You have officially split and you've shifted gear.

Now that you're completely in your entrepreneur mode, you're starting to focus on what you have to do for your own business.  You stop by the store to purchase a few of the items that your business needs.  Then you're home changing clothes and making sure that your domestic ends are tied up.  You may be multi-tasking again -- checking your voice messages and emails, returning calls and sending replies.  Finally, you settle into your chair and you're checking your 'To Do' list to see what specific tasks you can start-up or complete for your business before retiring to bed for the night.

This is your daily routine for at least three days out of the week.  Wow!  Have you always been like this!?!  What drives you to live this particular lifestyle?  How do you manage it all on a weekly basis without feeling a bit overwhelmed!?!  Do you ever get tired of the Employee-Entrepreneur Split?  When the Employee-Entrepreneur Split becomes draining or you start experiencing laziness, what particular 'thing' can rejuvenate you and somehow make you continue to do what you do!?!

Think on it.  Share your thoughts.  Post to this blog.  Feel free to visit this blog, Dr. Emple and Mr(s). Entreur, for next week's posting.  Do you like this blog?  Visit the new small business connected to the blog author.  Website address http://www.consumermarqettejournal.com
